Missed Jazz Fest This Year?

If so, here (below) is a CD package that looks to offer a little bit of sonic consolation.

The info below is straight from the email that I received. I've yet to hear the CD. I noticed, however, that several of the most interesting sets that I caught the first weekend - Astral Project, James Carter, Calexico, Norah Jones, Gillian Welch - are MIA. Sure wish that I could have returned the second weekend, to hear the Allman Bros.

Dear Jazz Fest Live customer,

Just a quick note to let you know that the 2007 Compilation Album is ready!

The album contains 30 live tracks from 30 of this year's New Orleans Jazz Fest performers and represents a selection of the joyous and varied musical styles that have come to signify the essence of Jazz Fest. This year's festival marked a return to normal with record crowds and a stellar roster of artists that just goes to show what an incredible musical treasure the New Orleans Jazz Fest has become.

The 2007 Compilation Album is available on 3 CDs ($29.95) as well as downloads ($24) and includes performances from:
