but Vegas hasn't done him in, according to a review published recently on Billboard.com. He's in LV for an extended stint -- Fridays and Saturdays until, you know, it's over.
I've mentioned this before, possibly in this space, but ... of the hundreds of shows that I've reviewed over the last 25 years or so, Prince's shows are in my Top 10. I've got great memories of his performances at the Lakeland Civic Center (now called the Lakeland Center), for the Purple Rain tour in the mid-'80s; Sunrise Musical Theatre near Fort Lauderdale in the '90s; and the Ice Palace (now called the St. Pete Times Forum).
He's a brilliant musician, and an absolutely astonishing performer.
