He's Back

Have I officially abandoned blogging? That's the question recently posed by a semi-regular visitor to Scribe Life. Might I add that this fellow is willingly abandoning the sweet life in hurricane alley for the blizzards and below-zero insanity of the Great White North?

Okay, it's all for a good cause -- a long overdue tenure-track post in academia. Truth be told, I'm somewhat envious. And yes, I'm envious, too, of his upcoming trip to the Ernest Hemingway Society conference in Spain. Send pix, M., and I'll post some of them here.

Back to the question at hand. The answer is "no, but why shouldn't I? If a tree falls in a forest ...)

I'll continue to blog, but it will probably be less frequently. I have other outlets for my writing, including some that actually pay $$, and I probably need to do a better job of prioritizing things. There's only so much of me to go around, and after the day job, side work in journalism, music playing, fiction writing, some academic work, lots of reading and (not least) family life, there's not a whole lot of time to devote to blogging.

I'm going to do a few quick posts in an effort to compensate for my recent extended absence from this venue.

So there. Where?

Semi-regular visitor? Hmmph. I check in almost every day, hoping for some morsel of pop culture goodness....
